Gas leak on Keele campus affecting access to building

Access to the Petrie Science & Engineering Building on the Keele campus of York University is being controlled by York Security and Emergency Management this morning due to a gas leak on the east side of the Life Sciences Building. Activities in the Life Sciences Building and the Chemistry Building continue, however as a normal precaution in the case of any gas leak, building occupants are advised to avoid open flames. The Life Sciences Building and Chemistry Building may be accessed from the southwest side.

Toronto Fire and Toronto Police Services are on site with York Security, as Enbridge Gas isolates the leak. The buildings are not being evacuated as the problem is localized, however classes may be affected this morning. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
