York Campus Security is assisting Toronto Police Service (TPS) in the investigation of a sexual assault that occurred on Wednesday April 17th near Vari Hall.
At about 4:50 am, a York student was walking from her home in the Village to Vari Hall, when she noticed that she was being followed by the suspect who was riding behind her on a black bicycle. As she continued to walk the suspect tried to engage her in conversation. She refused and as she tried to enter the building, the suspect sexually assaulted her. She pushed the suspect away and he fled on his bicycle. The survivor stated that she was not injured and declined medical attention.
