Security Bulletin – 23 March 2016
Reported Armed Robbery – West of Boot Terrace (West of the Village)
York Security Services (YSS) and Toronto Police Services received a report from a York student about an armed robbery that occurred off campus just west of Boot Terrace, west of the village community. On Monday 21 March 2016 at approximately 3:00pm, the student reported being approached by 3 suspects. One of the suspects produced a handgun and then removed the student’s wallet and cell phone. No injuries were reported.
Suspects are described as:
#1 Male, 6′ tall, 23-25 years of age, 150 lbs. short hair, wearing a college-styled leather jacket with red accents, pink sunglasses and blue jeans.
#2 Male, 5’8″ tall, dark clothing, blue jeans wearing black ski masks.
Toronto Police Service (TPS) are investigating.

Security Bulletin Protocol Overview
Security Bulletins are issued with regard to incidents that occur on York University property when:
· a serious incident has occurred and there is a risk of recurrence; and/or· there is a pattern of recurring, but less serious incidents (such as thefts or robberies); and/or· a Security or Police investigation will be assisted by bringing forward witnesses and information.
When an incident represents an immediate threat to the physical safety of persons at the University, there would be an immediate communication to all or to the effected parts of the University following the protocols outlined in York’s Emergency Plan and related procedures, employing the push notification on the Mobile Safety App, the LCD screens, and the emergency PA system.
