SECURITY BULLETIN ISSUED – 9 OCTOBER 2015
REPORTED ARMED ROBBERY
York Security Services (YSS) received a report of an armed robbery of a community member that occurred on Thursday, 8 October 2015, at approximately 8:30 p.m. near Sentinel Road and Assiniboine Road just south of the Keele campus. The community member was approached by two suspects who struck the victim. One of the suspects displayed a knife. The victim’s wallet was taken. Minor injuries were reported.
Toronto Police have been contacted and are investigating. York Security Services are assisting Toronto Police in the investigation. An increased security presence with supplemental security staff has been initiated for the area.
Suspects Descriptions:
Suspect #1 Male, 6ft. tall, heavy build, wearing dark jeans and a dark sweater
Suspect #2 Male, 5′ 10″, medium build.

Security Bulletins
Security Bulletins are issued with regard to incidents that occur on York University property when:
- a serious incident has occurred and there is a risk of recurrence; and/or
- there is a pattern of recurring, but less serious incidents (such as thefts or robberies); and/or
- a Security or Police investigation will be assisted by bringing forward witnesses and information.
When an incident represents an immediate threat to the physical safety of persons at the University, there would be an immediate communication to all or to the affected parts of the University following the protocols outlined in York’s Emergency Plan and related procedures, employing the push notification on the Mobile Safety App, the LCD screens, and the emergency PA system.
