SECURITY BULLETIN ISSUED – 2 OCTOBER 2015 REPORTED ARMED ROBBERY

York Security Services (YSS) is assisting the Toronto Police Service (TPS) with their investigation of an armed robbery which occurred in the parking lot of Black Creek Village located just west of the Keele Campus on Murray Ross Pkwy. On Thursday, 1 October 2015, at approximately 10:20 pm a suspect approached a community member from behind and grabbed the victim’s laptop.  At this time, a second suspect produced a knife, after which both suspects ran westbound towards Shoreham Drive. No injuries were reported.

 

Suspects Descriptions:

 

Suspect #1 Male, 5′ 10″, 180lbs. medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hoodie with a hood
Suspect #2 Male, wearing a black hoodie

Security Bulletins
Security Bulletins are issued with regard to incidents that occur on or near York University property when:
• a serious incident has occurred and there is a risk of recurrence; and/or
• there is a pattern of recurring, but less serious incidents (such as thefts or robberies); and/or
• a Security or Police investigation will be assisted by bringing forward witnesses and information.
When an incident represents an immediate threat to the physical safety of persons at the University, there would be an immediate communication to all or to the affected parts of the University following the protocols outlined in York’s Emergency Plan and related procedures, employing the push notification on the Mobile Safety App, the LCD screens, and the emergency PA system.
