SECURITY BULLETIN – INDECENT ACT – 29 September 2015

On 28 September 2015 at approximately 12:25 p.m., York Security Services (YSS) received a report from a community member of a male who was seen engaged in an indecent act on the third floor of the Scott Library near the escalators approximately 25 minutes earlier. York Security Services and Toronto Police responded to the occurrence and a search commenced for the suspect.
The suspect was described as male, 5’ 8″ to 5′ 10″ tall, short dark hair with a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, carrying a black backpack.

Security Bulletins
Security Bulletins are issued with regard to incidents that occur on or near York University property when:
• a serious incident has occurred and there is a risk of recurrence; and/or
• there is a pattern of recurring, but less serious incidents (such as thefts or robberies); and/or
• a Security or Police investigation will be assisted by bringing forward witnesses and information.
When an incident represents an immediate threat to the physical safety of persons at the University, there would be an immediate communication to all or to the affected parts of the University following the protocols outlined in York’s Emergency Plan and related procedures, employing the push notification on the Mobile Safety App, the LCD screens, and the emergency PA system.
