SECURITY BULLETIN– INDECENT ACT – 15 May 2015

On 14 May 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m., York Security Services (YSS) received a report from a community member of a male performing an indecent act at the southeast corner of the Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts.   YSS personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The suspect was described as male, white, 6’ tall, with a large build and short thick brown hair.   He was seen wearing a dark leather jacket, a sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark shoes and may have been carrying a backpack.

Security Bulletins

Security Bulletins are issued with regard to incidents that occur on or near York University property when:

  • a serious incident has occurred and there is a risk of recurrence; and/or
  • there is a pattern of recurring, but less serious incidents (such as thefts or robberies); and/or
  • a Security or Police investigation will be assisted by bringing forward witnesses and information.

When an incident represents an immediate threat tothe physical safety of persons at the University, there would be an immediate communication to all or to the affected parts of the University following the protocols outlined in York’s Emergency Plan and related procedures, employing the push notification on the Mobile Safety App, the LCD screens, and the emergency PA system.
