York Security Services (YSS) are assisting Toronto Police Services (TPS) in their investigation of a reported armed robbery that occurred at approximately 10:20pm on Tuesday, 9 December 2014.
A student reported after walking from the Village residential community south of the Keele Campus, he was headed north on Fine Arts Road between Accolade Centre East and Seneca@York when he was approached by four male suspects. Two suspects stood in front of the victim and two stood behind him. He was questioned by one of the suspects who stole his bag containing a laptop. The victim noticed what appeared to be a handgun in one of the suspect’s waistband. The suspects fled in a southbound direction. No injuries were reported.
The suspect with the apparent firearm was described as Male black, approximately 6′ 3″ wearing a black jacket, blue neck bandana and a Dallas Cowboy baseball cap.
York Security is increasing proactive patrols and working with Toronto Police on further safety initiatives.
